Based on the Rector’s Regulation of Universitas Diponegoro Number 13 of 2024 concerning the Organization and Work Procedures of Units under the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, the Directorate of Media Networking, Community, and Public Communication (Articles 306–315) serves as a developing unit and executor of strategic tasks as well as academic and non-academic support in the fields of media networking, community engagement, and public communication.

The following is a detailed description of the duties and functions of the Directorate and its sub-units.

Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication

Article 306

Article 307

The Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication is responsible for organizing the planning, development, and implementation of programs and activities in the fields of media networking, community engagement, and public communication, as well as carrying out other duties assigned by the Rector

Article 308

In carrying out the duties as referred to in Article 307, the Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication performs the following functions:

  1. Managing the implementation of promotion and branding programs to enhance UNDIP’s reputation, both through mainstream media channels and social media at national and international levels;
  2. Connecting UNDIP academics with national and international civil society communities;
  3. Connecting UNDIP academics with national and international academic communities;
  4. Building strong and sustainable relationships with media institutions, both mainstream media and social media platforms;
  5. Planning, implementing, and developing public/integrated services;
  6. Planning, implementing, and developing UNDIP publications;
  7. Planning, implementing, and developing public communication activities, including communication during crises, emergencies, and high-risk situations occurring within the UNDIP environment;
  8. Organizing information/electronic systems related to the functions of the Directorate of Media Networking, Community, and Public Communication;
  9. Implementing reporting and evaluation of activities carried out;
  10. Implementing cooperation and/or providing administrative support in accordance with duties and functions to institutions, agencies, directorates, UPTs, offices, and/or other related units; and
  11. Other functions as determined by the Rector

In carrying out its functions as referred to in Article 308, the organizational structure of the Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication consists of:

Article 310

The Administrative Affairs Division of the Directorate is responsible for providing integrated information services, information management and documentation services, public relations, promotion and branding, as well as other duties assigned by the Rector

Article 311

In carrying out the duties as referred to in Article 310, the Administrative Affairs Division of the Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication performs the following functions:

  1. Providing public/integrated services;
  2. Carrying out the functions of the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID);
  3. Providing aspiration and complaint-handling services;
  4. Providing public relations services;
  5. Providing UNDIP publication services;
  6. Managing the implementation of information/electronic systems related to the Administrative Affairs Division;
  7. Providing branding services;
  8. Implementing reporting and evaluation of activities carried out; and
  9. Other functions as determined by the Rector

The organizational structure under the Administrative Affairs Division of the Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication consists of:

In carrying out the duties as referred to in Article 313 paragraph (1), the Media and Community Networking Subdivision performs the following functions:

  1. Managing the implementation of promotion and branding programs to enhance UNDIP’s reputation, both through mainstream media channels and social media at national and international levels;;
  2. Connecting UNDIP academics with communities and national and international civil society
  3. Connecting UNDIP academics with national and international academic communities;
  4. Building strong and sustainable relationships with media institutions, both mainstream media and social media platforms;

Article 315

In carrying out the duties as referred to in Article 313 paragraph (2), the Public Communication and Integrated Services Subdivision performs the following functions:

  1. Planning, implementing, and developing public/integrated services;
  2. Planning, implementing, and developing UNDIP publications;
  3. Planning, implementing, and developing branding activities;
  4. Planning, implementing, and developing public communication activities, including communication during crises, emergencies, and high-risk situations occurring within the UNDIP environment;
  5. Organizing information/electronic systems related to the functions of the Directorate of Media Networks, Community, and Public Communication;
  6. Implementing reporting and evaluation of activities carried out;
  7. Implementing cooperation and/or providing administrative support in accordance with its duties and functions to institutions, agencies, directorates, UPTs, offices, and/or other related units; and
  8. Other functions as determined by the Rector

Rector’s Regulation Number 13 of 2024 also introduces new provisions related to

Article 18 (3)

The Vice Dean for Resources, as referred to in paragraph (1) letter (b), may be assisted by coordinators, consisting of at most:

  1. Coordinator for Cooperation and RGA/Business; and
  2. Coordinator for Information Systems and Public Communication.
